Information & Overview

The Southwest Virginia and North Carolina Sukkot 2026 is sponsored by SW Virginia Feasts Keepers, to enable like-minded individuals to assemble and fellowship during the feast days. This is our second annual event at Camp Dickenson. 100% of fees collected go toward food, facilities, and other incidental costs. Donations to cover excess costs are also welcome.

Due to Sukkot ending on Shabbat this year, activities will be extended through October 4, 2026 (which includes two weekly Sabbaths).

Facilities

Camp Dickenson offers many amenities including a full kitchen with dining facilities, Wifi, heated indoor lodging, indoor and outdoor meeting and activity areas, and much more. For a complete preview visit campdickenson.com. Please note the pool will be closed for the season. This year tent camping, and the Dickenson Lodge will be the primary accommodations, although there are several bunkhouses available for overflow.

Camp housing is NOT hotel-style. It is bunkhouse style (separated by gender), with 2–16 twin-size bunkbeds per room. Common bathroom/shower facilities are in each facility and in the gym.

Each overnight visitor must bring their own: twin sheet sets, pillow, pillowcase, blanket, towels, washcloths, and toiletries.

Handicap Accessibility

ADA-compliant handicap bathrooms/showers are available in the gym/multi-purpose building, with potential to lodge in the gym bunkroom. There is also one easily-accessible separate room adjacent to the bunkhouse. Please specify your exact requests on the Registration Form.

Activities

Fishing (no license needed on premises), hiking, a full indoor basketball gym, indoor/outdoor games, outdoor grill area, outdoor pavilion, and biking (bring your bicycle) are included in registration fees. We hope to visit Mayberry (Mount Airy, NC) and plan a river day — bring your canoe or kayak.

Speakers

We will have a variety of speakers, all donating their time and expertise. A voluntary love offering will be collected for each speaker.

The only fees being charged are to cover the cost of facilities and a small contribution toward meals — we strive to keep Sukkot accessible to all. We encourage you to begin setting aside a portion of your tithe now for Sukkot and other feast days, just as Scripture instructs:

23 And before the Lord your God, in the place that he will choose, to make his name dwell there, you shall eat the tithe of your grain, of your wine, and of your oil, and the firstborn of your herd and flock, that you may learn to fear the Lord your God always. 24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry the tithe, when the Lord your God blesses you, because the place is too far from you, which the Lord your God chooses, to set his name there, 25 then you shall turn it into money and bind up the money in your hand and go to the place that the Lord your God chooses 26 and spend the money for whatever you desire—oxen or sheep or wine or strong drink, whatever your appetite craves. And you shall eat there before the Lord your God and rejoice, you and your household.
— Deuteronomy 14:23–26 (ESV)

Meal Information

All meals prepared by volunteers. Includes one full evening meal, continental-style breakfast, and modest lunch. Coffee and tea supplied to all paid registrants. All meals will be kosher (note: possible meat and dairy mixing). This year, meals and the kitchen surcharge are included in the day or overnight prices.
